We are frequently asked by customers to explain what the differences are between single skin patio roofing and insulated patio roofing, and their benefits.
Both Single Skin Roofing and Insulated Roofing can be utilised in both patio and carport building applications, including gable style, flyover style and flat off the fascia style. Depending on your budget, both can achieve outstanding results.
As its name suggests, it is a lightweight single layer of steel, with a high gloss paint finish top and bottom, specifically designed to reflect the sun. On installation, the sheets are interlocked to form a watertight seal.
This product has two layers of painted steel, one on top and one on the bottom, with a layer of foam in between. Depending on the desired span, the thickness of the foam can range from 50mm to 150mm.
The top layer comes in a wide range of modern colour bond colours to match with most house roof colours, whilst the bottom of the sheet is white underneath, giving it a sleek ceiling look. On installation, the sheets are joined together leaving a concealed channel between that can be used to install cabling for lights and ceiling fans.
